is a member of the Regional Household Hazardous Waste Collection Program

 

As a member of the Regional HHW Collection Program, Grain Valley residents can safely dispose unwanted hazardous waste from the home at either of two permanent facilities or any mobile collection event on the Missouri side.

 

 

What can I bring?

 

            HHW includes:


§         Paint

§         Paint Products

§         Lawn and garden chemicals

§         Batteries

§         Motor oil

§         Gasoline

§         Antifreeze

§         Fluorescent bulbs

§         Nail polish

§         Household cleaners

§         Pool chemicals

§         Glues and adhesives


 

Where are the facilities?

 

There are two permanent facilities available for residents to safely dispose their HHW material. Appointments are required.

When are the events?

 

There are 13 mobile collection events held April through November that residents can attend. The 2008 schedule will be finalized in February and posted on www.recyclespot.org. A brochure with all program information will available at your city hall in March.

 

Is there a charge?

 

There is no charge; the city pays a per capita fee for membership. Proof of residency such as a driver’s license or a utility bill is required.
