Public Works Programs
Long Term Water Supply Project

This is a joint effort with Blue Springs and
TCWA (Tri-County Water Association) to provide water to each partner’s
community long term. It involves 17 miles of piping, two storage tanks,
pump stations, significant treatment plant upgrades and millions of
dollars funded in large part by future growth.
Sewer Rehab Project
This is an annual program that follows a
thorough investigation of piping and manholes. The investigation
identifies the issues. The rehabilitation follows with the ultimate
goal being to reduce inflow and infiltration that is eventually treated
by the plant and charged to the community. As inflow and infiltration
is reduced, so is the cost to the City and its community.
Annual Street Program

This is an annual program that follows a
comprehensive plan to improve the longevity of our streets and
reconstruct when appropriate. This plan is based on the streets rating
and the City’s annual budget. It attempts to provide the City with the
most cost effective approach to providing the community with safe and
reliable travel.
Comprehensive Plan for Storm Water System
This will be supplemented with an additional
analysis (provided by USGS) of the Sni-A-Bar Creek and its relationship
to the rest of the City over the next couple of years. These analyses
are, and will be, used to aid in updating existing infrastructure and in
constructing future infrastructure so that the impact of rain events are
minimized as much as possible.
