Right of Way / Easements
Right of Way is a general
term used denoting the property in which a street or transportation
structure is currently built on or for future construction.
Easement is a right to
use another person’s real estate (specified piece of land) for a
specific purpose most commonly for utility purposes such as utility
poles, water and sewer lines, phone, cable or gas service. The owner of
the property may not interfere with its use.
Drainage/Conservation
Easement is a right to use another person’s real estate for the
specific purpose of storm water run off or the preservation of that
specified piece of land. No building or structure of any kind may be
placed in this type of easement.
ROW permits are necessary
anytime work such as road cuts etc. is to be done within any specified
Right of Way.
