Economic Development Task Force

The Mayor of Grain Valley designated seven (7) individuals to serve as the Economic Development Task Force. This group consists of representatives from the public, private and community sector in Grain Valley. The Task Force is responsible for the development of a local economic development plan for Grain Valley.

The Task Force began working during the spring of 2006 to develop an economic development plan. Community input was sought during a public meeting on August 29, 2006. The final draft was approved by the Board of Aldermen on September 25, 2006.

Recommendations included in the Grain Valley Economic Development Plan are:

1. Develop and Implement a Business Incubator Program

2. Develop and Implement a Business Creation, Retention and Expansion Program

3. Update the City of Grain Valley Comprehensive Plan and Develop Area Plans

4. Establish and Apply Incentive Utilization Guidelines

5. Develop a Marketing Plan for Economic Development

6. Infrastructure Improvements
